Short version: your photos never come to us. We collect the minimum needed to deliver updates, licenses and support. Payments are handled by Paddle. We don’t sell data, show ads or track you across sites.
1. Who is responsible
FOP Yevhen Holota, a sole proprietor registered in Ukraine, is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: SUPPORT_EMAIL.
2. Your photos
Photorer works on your Mac. Previews, ratings and on-device analysis (such as blink and focus detection) are created locally. We do not receive your photos, previews, ratings or file names. When you cull together, previews and ratings go directly between your Mac and the devices you approve, encrypted, and not through our servers.
3. What we collect
- Update and notice checks. The app periodically asks our servers whether an update or a service notice is available. The request includes the app version, build and release channel. As with any internet request, the server sees your IP address.
- License activation. When you start the trial, activate a key or promo code, or the app checks a license, it sends the key or code, an anonymous identifier of your Mac, your Mac’s name and the app version, so a license can be limited to one Mac and you can be helped with it.
- Purchases. When you buy Photorer, Paddle collects your name, email address, country, payment and tax details as merchant of record. Paddle shares with us what we need to deliver and support your license: your name, email, country, what you bought and when. We never see your full card details.
- Support. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write.
- Website. This site has no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
4. Why we use it
To deliver and update the app, issue and check licenses, process orders and refunds, prevent fraud and license abuse, answer your questions, and meet our legal and tax obligations. The legal bases are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running a reliable and secure service, and legal obligations.
5. Who receives data
- Paddle.com, our reseller and merchant of record, for payments, taxes, invoices and refunds. See Paddle’s privacy notice.
- Hosting providers that serve this website, app updates and downloads (Vercel and GitHub).
- Google Fonts, which serves the fonts on this website and receives your IP address when the page loads.
Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. They process data under their own safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses. We do not sell or rent personal data.
6. How long we keep it
Order and license records are kept for as long as your license is active and as long as tax and accounting law requires. Support emails are kept while needed to help you. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting providers.
7. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, or object to or restrict its use. Email SUPPORT_EMAIL and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Children
Photorer is made for professionals and is not directed at children under 16.
9. Changes
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app or on this site.
